I discovered that a fellow Member at Sevenoaks District Council could not afford legal advice. The elderly lady and her family were being relentlessly persued by malicious neighbours over a non existent right of way, I volunteered my legal training and expertise to fight for justice on her and her families behalf.
We all understand the need for sensible development, but we must use brown field sites first and protect our green spaces. When people in the Kent villages of Brasted and Sundridge approached me for support in their campaign to protect fields earmarked for development I was happy to use my legal training and experience gained as a Councillor to guide them through the quasi judicial process.
